Bobby Jindal is Governor of Louisiana and was reelected to his second term with 66 percent of the vote.

Governor Jindal's first term was focused on growing Louisiana’s private sector economy by improving the state’s business climate. The Governor led initiatives to overhaul Louisiana’s historically lax ethics code, revamp the state’s workforce development system and eliminate burdensome business taxes.

Louisiana now has some of the toughest ethics laws in the nation and the country’s top workforce training program. Now, Louisiana – a state that once lagged behind in business climate rankings – ranks in the top ten of three major national business climate rankings. Louisiana’s unemployment rate has been consistently lower than the national unemployment rate since 2008.

Governor Jindal kicked off his second term by tackling education reform. Governor Jindal believes that the circumstances of your birth should not determine the quality of your education and that every child deserves the opportunity to get a great education. He believes that there should be a great teacher in every classroom and that teachers should be rewarded for their hard work. That’s why Governor Jindal pushed for and signed landmark reforms to provide more choices to families and reward hardworking teachers.

Governor Jindal’s next goal is comprehensive tax reform. In order to keep improving Louisiana's business climate, Governor Jindal is working with legislators and business leaders on a plan to eliminate personal and corporate income taxes in a revenue neutral way.
