Speaking in Baton Rouge today, Louisiana Governor Governor Bobby Jindal said that his administration "will do everything we can to secure the future of Avondale Shipyards." 

The governor joined members of the Louisiana congressional delegation who spoke in response to news that the shipyard could effectively be shut down by 2012 due to the loss of work for the United States Navy. ...

Jindal said he has directed state officials to begin discussions with potential future buyers of the Avondale yards.
