Governor-Elect Jindal Announces Crime and Public Safety Transition Advisory Council
BATON ROUGE – Today, Governor-Elect Bobby Jindal announced the members of the Crime and Public Safety Transition Advisory Council, which is chaired by District Attorney Jerry Jones of Mer Rouge along with vice chair and Southern University Chancellor Freddie Pitcher of Baton Rouge.
The Crime and Public Safety Transition Advisory Council contains two groups - the Law Enforcement and Corrections Group and the Youth Development Group – which will both conduct public hearings to collect testimony and make recommendations to Governor-Elect Jindal on crime and public safety issues pertaining to his Crime and Safety Reform Plan announced during his campaign.
Jindal also announced today that the Law Enforcement and Corrections Group of the Council will hold a public hearing on December 10th at Kirby Smith Hall on LSU Campus in Baton Rouge, and the Youth Development Group will hold a public hearing on December 14th also at Kirby Smith Hall in Baton Rouge.
